German Mustard
Many of my recipes call for German mustard.
German mustard is a unique and flavorful condiment that has been around for centuries. It is made from the seeds of white, brown or black mustard and is known for its spicy and tangy flavor. German mustard is an essential part of any German meal, adding a delicious kick to any dish.
There are many varieties of German mustard available, each with its own distinct flavor.
Bavarians eat the mild sweet mustard with "Weißwürste" (white sausages). It is also served with cold cuts or certain types of hard cheeses.

The so-called "Extra" is a very spicy mustard. You can eat it with grilled meats, ripe cheeses, and "Blutwurst" (blood sausage). The best-known brand for spicy mustard is Löwensenf from the city of Düsseldorf.
The mustard I use the most is "Mittelscharf" (medium spicy). No particular brand. It just adds the right amount of mustard spice to the dish without overpowering it.
It is not very difficult to find German mustard. I usually buy it at the grocery store, or you can order it online.
